I'm Asaf Hacmon
A MIDLIFE COACH, TEACHER, ENTREPRENEUR, FAMILY MAN, BUT MOSTLY - SOMEONE WHO HAD TO REBUILD HIS LIFE, FROM SCRATCH - MORE THAN ONCE.
There's a certain restlessness that comes in your 40s or 50s. It's not a breakdown. It's quieter than that, and in some ways more unsettling.
You've done the work. You've built a career, made some money, raised a family, survived the hard years. By most measures, you've succeeded. And yet something has shifted. The goals that drove you for two decades don't quite fit anymore. Time feels different — more precious, less infinite. You may find yourself asking: What do I actually want now? Is this it? What would I do if I weren't afraid?
I know this feeling personally. Because I've been there. Several times.

My story is the reason I can help you with yours.
I haven't just studied midlife transitions. I've been through many of them — some by choice, some by force — to know exactly what they cost and what they're worth.
In 2008, I had a burnout. I was a director at one of the world's largest media companies, successful by every external measure, and completely hollow on the inside. My body gave out before my ambition did. That burnout was the first time I was forced to ask a question I'd been avoiding for years: what am I actually doing this for?
Before I'd fully answered it, life answered for me differently. In 2010, a severe bacterial infection put me in intensive care for three weeks. I came out thinner, quieter, and permanently changed. There is nothing quite like staring at a hospital ceiling for weeks to clarify what actually matters.
I stopped postponing the life I wanted and started building it.
That meant leaving corporate life. It meant starting a family, it meant starting a business in Amsterdam with no guarantee it would work, growing it over fifteen years, and eventually selling it.
During this time, the pandemic came and brought a business crisis, forcing me to cope with one business but close a second business I had just opened — losing the investment and watching something I'd built disappear overnight.
I know what financial fear feels like from the inside. I know what it means to lose something and start again.
After I sold my yoga school came the relocation — packing up a family, a life, a social world, two daughters and a partner, and following a dream to sunny Portugal. Rebuilding life in a new country, new rhythms, new identity. Discovering that when you strip away your city, your network, and your routine, the question who am I now? gets very loud, very quickly.
I'm not sharing this for sympathy.
I'm sharing it because when you sit with me — whether you're burning out, questioning everything, facing a financial crossroads, thinking about a relocation, or trying to find the courage to make a change that feels too big — I won't be nodding politely from the outside. I'll know exactly where you are. Because I've been there too.
What I learned from all of it is what I bring to our sessions. And the most important thing is this: the people who navigate these moments best aren't the ones who had it easiest. They're the ones who found the right support at the right time.
"The first half of life is about building. The second half is about choosing — carefully, intentionally — what to keep, what to let go, and what to build next." - Asaf
What I bring to the table
An experience that is real.
When we talk about money, business, or strategy, I'm not speaking from theory. I hold a law degree and an MBA. I've had a career, I've built businesses. I've managed investments, navigated financial transitions, took some losses, recovered, and built passive income for my family.
Inner work that is real, too.
I'm a senior-certified yoga teacher with 20 years of study, practice, and teaching behind me. That's not a footnote — it's what gives me the ability to work with the whole person, not just the professional or financial puzzle. The body, the mind, the meaning: it all connects. I know how to hold that space.
I've bled from the same wounds
Burnout. A life-threatening illness. Business failure. Career reinvention. Relocation. These aren't concepts I read about in a coaching manual. They're chapters from my life. I've been the person sitting where you're sitting — scared, uncertain, and wondering whether the next chapter could be as good as what came before. It can. I know because I'm living it. And I know how to help you get there.

International media features
Taught yoga worldwide in retreats, festivals, airports, TV, and SkyTeam on-board in flight entertainment system.
A bit more personal
I live in the Algarve (Portugal) — one of Europe's great second-chapter destinations. As a midlife coach, I work with clients from the Algarve and clients around the world (online video calls). I spend my time thinking about the things my clients think about: how to invest wisely so money works to support my family while allowing more precious free time. I think about my life's purpose and how to build meaningful things in the second half of my life. I try every day to stay physically and mentally fit to support my body and mind as the years move faster.
I'm also a market observer, and someone who reads widely across finance, philosophy, and human behaviour. I'm endlessly curious about people, what makes them move, and what holds them back.
If you work with me, you'll find that I ask as many questions as I offer answers — because the answers you find yourself are the only ones that will actually stick.
