I'm Asaf

A MIDLIFE COACH, TEACHER, ENTREPRENEUR, FAMILY MAN, BUT MOSTLY - SOMEONE WHO HAD TO REBUILD HIS LIFE, FROM SCRATCH - MORE THAN ONCE.

There's a certain restlessness that comes in your 40S or 50'S. It's not a breakdown. It's quieter than that, and in some ways more unsettling.

You've done the work. You've built a career, made some money, raised a family, survived the hard years. By most measures, you've succeeded. And yet something has shifted. The goals that drove you for two decades don't quite fit anymore. Time feels different — more precious, less infinite. You may find yourself asking: What do I actually want now? Is this it? What would I do if I weren't afraid?

I know this feeling personally. Because I've been there. Several times.

My story is the reason I can help you with yours.

I started my career as a lawyer. Then I went back to business school for a Masters in Business Administration. I then moved into the corporate world, working as a director at Liberty Global, one of the largest media and technology companies in the world.

From the outside, it looked like a straight line upward. On the inside, I was asking the same questions you might be asking now.

So I made a decision most people in my position would have called crazy. I left the corporate career, founded a yoga studio in Amsterdam, and spent fifteen years building it into something I was genuinely proud of — and having survived the Corona business crisis, I eventually sold it and decided to follow an old dream of relocation.

That next chapter brought me to the sunny Algarve (Portugal), to a life I consciously chose, with my partner Tati and our two daughters. It helped me focus on trading and investing (an area of passion and much experience) but it mostly helped me realise that coaching is what pulls every thread of my life together.

Because here's what I know, having lived through multiple reinventions: the second half of life doesn't happen to you. You design it - then you go for it. Or you don't — and you spend it wondering what might have been.

"The first half of life is about building. The second half is about choosing — carefully, intentionally — what to keep, what to let go, and what to build next." - Asaf

What I bring to the table

The experience is real.

When we talk about money, business, or strategy, I'm not speaking from theory. I hold a law degree and an MBA. I've had a career, I've built businesses. I've managed investments, navigated financial transitions, took some losses, recovered, and built passive income for my family.

The inner work is real, too.

I'm a senior-certified yoga teacher with 20 years of study, practice, and teaching behind me. That's not a footnote — it's what gives me the ability to work with the whole person, not just the professional or financial puzzle. The body, the mind, the meaning: it all connects. I know how to hold that space.

I lived the transition you're in.

I've left certainty behind for something I believed in. I've changed careers, relocated to a new country, and started again. I've faced hard questions about time, money, identity, and purpose that tend to surface in the second half of life. I don't coach this from the outside. I coach it from within.

Taught yoga worldwide in retreats, festivals, airports, TV, and SkyTeam on-board in flight entertainment system.

A bit more personal

I live in the Algarve (Portugal) — one of Europe's great second-chapter destinations. As a midlife coach, I work with clients from the Algarve and clients around the world (online video calls). I spend my time thinking about the things my clients think about: how to invest wisely so money works to support my family while allowing more precious free time. I think about my life's purpose and how to build meaningful things in the second half of my life. I try every day to stay physically and mentally fit to support my body and mind as the years move faster.

I'm also a market observer, and someone who reads widely across finance, philosophy, and human behaviour. I'm endlessly curious about people, what makes them move, and what holds them back.

If you work with me, you'll find that I ask as many questions as I offer answers — because the answers you find yourself are the only ones that will actually stick.
